The Concept Behind #EllaFeelingera

"#EllaFeelingera is my satirical take on the often conflicting lives; from the "real world", the "imagined world" and the "online world", which the millennials live in/operate on today.

In a society inundated by so-called 'communication technologies,' it is such a great wonder and irony that millennials, as per the findings of respected sociologists, are the most challenged when it comes to inter-personal relations, among other things.

Using the accessibility of the "rom-com" genre, I hope to explore, exploit and expand on this global social scenario via a TV/online series like #EllaFeelingera, a material which practically opens other exciting opportunities and variations in most other media."

In the 2016 edition of CineFilipino, the festival included in its program the "TV Pilot Category" where five (5) finalist entries are selected based on the submitted concept, teleplay and a pitching session participated by the pre-selected twelve (12) semi-finalists.

'Ang Mga #Hugot ni #EllaFeelingera' landed among the top five finalists and writer-director-producer Ramon Bayron received a grant of PHp 500,000.00 to produce the pilot episode.

As per the signed agreement between Cinefilipino and Mr. Ramon Bayron, the festival organizers had twelve (12) months to produce the series after which said right reverts back to to Mr. Bayron.

The '12 month provision' has since lapsed during the first quarter of 2017 without a single #Ella episode produced by the festival organizers. Said producing rights now belong again to Mr. Bayron.
